The Victorian Energy Upgrades program may reduce the upfront cost of replacing eligible gas heating with an approved reverse-cycle air-conditioning system.
To qualify for a decommissioning-based rebate, the existing gas heating appliance must meet the program requirements and be permanently decommissioned as part of the upgrade.
There is no single rebate amount that applies to every home. The final value is calculated using several factors, including the type and capacity of the system being removed and the capacity, efficiency and eligibility of the new reverse-cycle system being installed. Certificate values can also fluctuate over time.
